Anguilla is a small, picturesque island located in the eastern Caribbean. It is known for its pristine white sand beaches, turquoise waters, luxury resorts & villas, and relaxed atmosphere. The island quickly stole my heart so I’m here to share some insight and convince you to book the trip!

How to get to Anguilla? You can fly direct to Anguilla or fly to St Martin (SXM) and ferry over— the latter option typically offers lower fares. Although you can easily spend a week in Anguilla (& we urge you to), we’d also recommend you pair Anguilla with St Martin or St. Barths.

Anguilla’s beaches consistently rank among the best in the Caribbean. From the iconic Shoal Bay to the secluded Maundays Bay and the vibrant Rendezvous Bay, visitors can swim in the blue waters, and enjoy breathtaking coastal views. The contrast of the cliffs and beach felt like I was in Spain or Portugal at times. The #1 thing I recommend is a boat excursion to the neighboring islands! Truly a highlight of my time on the island.

With roughly 15,000 residents, Anguilla offers a serene atmosphere with some of the friendliest locals you’ll ever meet. The island offers an array of fine dining restaurants, beachfront shacks and charming local eateries. The food and drinks were definitely something to write home about and I highly recommend trying the rum punch. Each restaurant and resort has their own version so we’d love to hear your favorite!

Some of my favorites: Leon’s on Meade’s Bay at Malliouhana, Blanchard’s, Pimms at Cap Juluca and Sharkys.

During my trip, I saw six properties in five days! There are amazing hotel options for every type of traveler- friend groups, families, celebrations and honeymoons!  Each property has its own flare and special perks offered if you book through my Virtuoso link.

Cap Juluca - If you are looking for a resort that will check all of your stay boxes, this is it! One of the most luxurious properties in all of the Caribbean. My jaw-dropped when I walked through the doors. Each room is overlooking the ocean giving you direct access to the beach. We suggest starting every morning with a bike ride to breakfast where you can enjoy a fabulous buffet overlooking the pristine water. Can’t miss a dinner reservation at Pimm’s!  A highlight of my time – every night, the management team would invite guests to sip and saber champagne as everyone toasted to a great day (see photo below)!

Belmond Bellini Perks: VIP Welcome Amenities, daily breakfast at Cip's by Cipriani, room upgrade, subject to availability upon arrival, $100 USD hotel credit per room per stay for bookings in all room and junior suite categories, $220 USD hotel credit per room per stay for bookings in all one-bedroom suites and above categories.

Malliouhana A charming boutique property with only sixty-three keys. The hotel offers views of dramatic cliffs and a private beach.  The location on Mead’s Bay offers a prime location walking distance to several beach shacks and local restaurants. I suggest a morning round of tennis and an afternoon massage or facial! Can’t miss - lunch at Leon’s beach bar and Johnny Cakes for breakfast! Fun fact: Malliouhana has one of my favorite kids clubs!

Virtuoso Amenities: Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability, daily breakfast credit of $35 USD per person, for up to two guests per bedroom, $100 USD hotel credit to be utilized during stay, early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability.

Aurora - The perfect getaway for honeymooners, families and golfers. They have a championship golf course, Aurora International Golf Club, ranked #3 best Caribbean course. Home to the only golf course on the island. Guests even come from St Martin to play here! The resort is currently building a brand new water park! Aurora offers a festive lobster BBQ every Thursday with live music on the beach. Houses one of the largest spas on the island and may have the running for one of my favorite rum punches!

Virtuoso Amenities:  Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability, daily breakfast credit of $50 USD per guest for up to two guests per bedroom, $100 USD equivalent resort or hotel credit per bedroom to be utilized during stay, early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability.

Four Seasons - This Four Seasons is very modern in architecture with several  restaurant options on-site (Asian, Caribbean, fine dining and beach shack). There is a great mix of accommodation options from villas and penthouses to suites and guest rooms. Four Seasons is located on Meade’s Bay (one of our favorite locations), walking distance to Malliouhana with several restaurants and beach bars in between. The resort boasts three outdoor pools, yoga and spin classes, a sports pavilion, fitness center AND a Johnny Cakes cooking class.  Can’t miss - Johnny Cakes for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Virtuoso amenities: Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability, daily breakfast for up to two guests per bedroom, $100 USD equivalent resort or hotel credit to be utilized during stay, early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability.

Zemi Beach - Situated on six acres on Anguilla's tranquil Shoal Bay, Zemi Beach prides itself in being a destination where “ultimate leisure meets enduring luxury.” This sentiment is best exemplified at their spa where they offer luxurious spa and wellness treatments. The owner of Zemi Beach brought back a 300-year old Thai house and turned it into their spa where you can have a traditional Thai experience. The resort has plenty of amenities from three outdoor swimming pools to a private beach to water sports and even a kids club. It offers a great mix of entertainment for every kind of traveler with tranquility being at its core.

Virtuoso amenities: Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability, daily breakfast for up to two guests per bedroom, $100 USD in local currency resort or hotel credit to be utilized during stay, early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability.

ANI Private Resorts - I had the chance to stay at ANI Thailand back in March of this year.  ANI Anguilla is similar in concept in that it is fully private with dedicated staff. This resort is  two private villas perched on a cliffside overlooking Little Bay. It offers half-board dining, daily spa treatments, tennis pro on-site, babysitting and other 5* experiences (think private DJ, pool party, boat experience and more)!  The dedicated staff is there to customize your time in paradise.  The staff is absolutely phenomenal and by the end of your stay, they feel like family. I genuinely cried saying goodbye to our team in ANI Thailand and I’m sure the same sentiment happens at ANI Anguilla.
